Marquette University High School (or MUHS) is a private, all-male Roman Catholic school, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is a member of both the National Catholic Educational Association and the Jesuit Secondary Education Association.
The school was spun off from the preparatory department of Marquette University in 1907. Since then, the majority (98%) of its students have gone on to a four-year college or university. There were 239 students in the class of 2005 and 280 in the class of 2006. The class of 2007 was the 150th graduating class at MUHS.
Marquette University High School is located at 35th Street and Wisconsin Avenue (3401 W. Wisconsin Avenue) in the historic Merrill Park Neighborhood on Milwaukee’s West Side. It is a four-story building, built in the early twentieth century. Renovations include a new fine arts department, extended locker rooms and weight training facility, and extended offices. The “Three Holy Companions” Chapel was added in 2008.
The curriculum at Marquette is entirely college prep. Although there are strict credit requirements in all fields of study for graduation, there are also opportunities for electives in areas such as computer science, theology, history, and others.
MUHS offers Latin, German, and Spanish as foreign languages, and has participated in exchange programs with France, Germany and the Czech Republic. Through MUHS, students also have the opportunity to travel to Ireland, the UK, Germany, Italy, and Mexico, among others.

Tax-Cut Bill Passes 60-Vote Level in Senate, Enough to Advance
The Senate on Monday advanced the tax-cut package agreed to
between President Obama and Congressional Republicans,
virtually assuring that the Senate will approve the bill on
Tuesday and send it to the House where Democrats are
threatening to make changes to a provision granting a
generous tax exemption to wealthy estates.
The vote in the Senate was not finished, but shortly after 4
p.m. the tally showed more than 60 senators agreeing to end
debate, cut off any filibuster and move to a vote on passage.
The majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, had agreed to keep
the vote open far longer than usual to allow lawmakers
returning to Washington from the West Coast to make it back
to the Capitol.
The vote was 61 to 7, with six Democrats and Senator Bernard
Sanders, the Vermont independent, in opposition.
